Long Term Care

Long Term Care refers to a broad range of supportive medical, personal and social services for people who unable to provide for their own needs for an extended period of time. Having a well-prepared financial plan can help you enjoy a comfortable lifestyle in your later years, but many people don’t even consider how their own — or a loved one’s — need for long term care could negatively impact even the best plans for the future.

No one likes to think about the potential need for long term care, but with limited coverage provided by health insurance and government programs, you should consider your options. If you want to maintain your financial independence and help protect your savings and assets, Long Term Care insurance can provide the solution. These plans provide for ongoing care after an illness or injury is stabilized, or care required due to slowly deteriorating health. They provide needed funds to cover the cost of care provided in your home or in a variety of settings or facilities. You should consider buying Long Term Care insurance if:

•You have assets and income you want to protect

• You want to avoid burdening your family with extensive caregiving responsibilities

• You don’t want to depend on government programs for care

• You want to be able to choose where you receive care

• You want to receive high quality care

We are specialists at Long Term Care, and can provide a multitude of plan options and benefit levels in both the group and individual marketplaces. Let us put together a custom plan designed for your unique individual needs. Contact you ProSource representative for more information on this essential line of coverage.

Employee Assistance Plans (EAP)

An EAP is a network of clinical specialists available to employees and their families. The goal of an EAP is to provide support, referrals, and in some cases even counseling to employees and their families.

Early intervention identifies behavioral problems when they are easier to resolve. Problems addressed by EAPs include:

• marital / relationship difficulties

• alcohol and drug abuse

• emotional problems

• family issues

• legal concerns

• financial troubles

Some typical program components include a 24-hour hotline, extensive referral networks, face-to-face assessments and private counseling sessions.

Wellness Programs

More and more employers are adding wellness programs to their benefit packages.

You can now help your employees take the responsibility for their own preventive health care. It's a proven medical fact that early detection dramatically reduces health care costs.

Some examples of these plans are:

• Health screening, including cholesterol and blood pressure testing

• Stress management and smoking cessation classes

• Drug-free workplace seminars

• Weight control / nutrition classes

• Fitness and exercise programs

With health care costs skyrocketing, and productivity becoming more important every day, your company's health can depend to a large degree on the health of your workforce. Now is the time to give your employees the advantages of early detection. Don't allow high medical costs to jeopardize your company's future.

Vision Plans

Vision Plans fill a void that has long existed in most group health plans by furnishing periodic services for eye examinations, prescription lenses and frames on a pre-paid basis. For as little as one percent of the cost of a total benefit package, these plans are probably the least expensive benefit that can be added. Not only is the cost of the plan low to begin with, but it remains low, as these programs are not subject to the inflationary spiral in which other health care benefits have been caught.

Employers recognize the value of vision care in attracting and retaining employees. Over 65% of companies in the U.S. currently offer a vision care plan as part of their complete benefits package. Installing a quality vision plan ensures high employee satisfaction for relatively low benefit dollars.

A growing number of employers promote wellness as a means of addressing future medical cost increases, and a comprehensive eye exam by a qualified professional is one of the best preventative health measures available. No other organ gives so many indications of health problems or disease. Thousands of Americans over the age of 40 have glaucoma — one of the leading causes of blindness — and don't know it. In unique instances, a thorough eye exam may also detect medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, nutritional disorders and arteriosclerosis. Thirty-one percent of children aged 15 to 19 have vision problems, and children in need of eye care outnumber the combined total of all children handicapped by speech or hearing impediments, orthopedic handicaps, cerebral palsy and epilepsy.

We represent a broad selection of vision care providers that offer a number of different plan designs, provider networks and funding options for every conceivable employer need. Contact your ProSource representative for more details on this important line of coverage.

Voluntary Plans

Increasingly, employers are looking for opportunities to provide their employees with enhanced compensation and benefit value. At the same time, given the high cost of employer-sponsored health care benefits, most companies are not interested in increasing their benefit expense or liability. An excellent way to enhance employment value is to round out the fringe benefits package with a voluntary payroll deduction program. Employees prefer buying these products at their place of employment when their employer supports the convenience of of payroll deduction as the method of payment.

Voluntary programs represent a solution to the dilemma of wanting to add benefits without incurring any direct employer cost or corporate cash contributions, as they are 100% employee-paid. Carefully selected and well-communicated plans help attract and retain a solid employee base and assist employees in designing a personal benefits package that best fits their needs. In addition to responding to the benefit needs of employees, certain benefits can be implemented under a Section 125 plan, allowing employees to fund their benefits on a pre-tax basis.

We only represent specialty carriers with strong financial performance, excellent claims paying ability, strong market presence, a broad range of products, competitive pricing, flexible case underwriting and responsive, dedicated administration.
